Pea shoots are an easy, quick and cheap crop, which can be grown by anyone, even if they have no outdoor space and are bed-bound.  They are literally the tender growing shoots of the plants that produce peas.  You can spend over £1.00 on a supermarket bag of these delicious greens, or less than £1.00 on a 500g bag of dried marrowfat peas and have enough seeds to grow your own fresh supply for a year.  They take up very little space and can be grown on your kitchen windowsill all year round.  Eat them as part of a salad, in sandwiches or stir-fry.  I just like to nibble a shoot as I pass by.
